Andy has been in practice since 2000 and has been fully licensed as a Georgia Licensed Professional Counselor since January 2004. He earned his Master’s Degree in Clinical/Counseling Psychology from Valdosta State University in May 2000. From 2000 through 2006, Andy was a therapist and program manager in Athens, GA at Advantage Behavioral Health Systems. He has been in private practice in Southwest Georgia since 2006. Andy’s specialty is working with people who have problems with addiction, but he also works with a wide variety of clients with other emotional and behavioral issues such as depression, anxiety, and difficulty getting along with others. People often say they are in “Recovery” when trying to stay clean and sober, but Andy uses the concept of Recovery in a more general sense. Recovery is a term that means “Returning to a normal state of health, mind, or strength.” Andy strives to create an environment that is free of condemnation and judgement so that clients can feel safe in their search for better solutions.
